Radon Testing in Bishop, GA
Challenge
A homebuyer in Bishop Georgia ordered a radon test with their home inspection. Their home inspection company contracted Georgia Healthy Homes to conduct a radon test using a continuous radon monitor. CRM testing is the preferred method of testing in real estate transactions because we can get test results quickly and the buyer does not have to extend their due diligence period.
Solution
The test results came back high. With a reading of 5.9 pCi/L, the home was well above the EPA action level of 4.0 pCi/L and the World Health Organization action level of 2.7 pCi/L.
High radon tests can derail a real estate transaction. The buyer requested that the seller install a radon mitigation system as an amendment to their contract.
